Job Title: Marketing Assistant

The role of Marketing Assistant has become available at Claygate Distribution Limited and we are now looking for a creative person with a flair for detail to join a small but busy team in our Marketing Department.

Day to day tasks are very varied and will include some of the following:

  1. Create and deliver marketing campaigns
  2. Social media posting
  3. Event research and management support
  4. Marketing promotional merchandise procurement
  5. Assisting with website management and design
  6. Assisting with advertising and trade press
  7. Review analytics from a range of systems and prepare reports
  8. Update and maintain key documents
  9. Proof reading publications and articles

Whilst experience is not essential as training will be given, you should be able to demonstrate:

    Job Title: Sales Co-ordinator

    Responsible to: Sales Office Manager

    Main Objective:
    To help obtain maximum sales for the company by telephone, and to ensure that objectives and budgets are achieved, or surpassed, by a flexible approach to the company business.

    Description of the position:
    It involves taking orders and queries from our customer base of 2,000+. There is NO cold calling involved, and full training will be given to the right individual. Applicants should be computer literate, with a good telephone manner, an outgoing personality and the ability to work as part of a very busy team.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    1. Answering all incoming calls quickly and efficiently
    2. Maximising sales opportunities from incoming calls by “link selling”
    3. Helping to motivate additional sales by making outgoing, positive telephone calls to customers
    4. Promoting company products/special offers, by advising customers and explaining the benefits of the products.
    5. To maximise product knowledge by giving attention to, and reading, manufacturers’ literature and brochures
    6. Work alongside assigned Area Sales Manager to offer support and assistance plus improve efficiency
    7. Grow relationships with individual customers
    8. Processing customer orders, quotations and enquiries on computer to produce necessary documentation
    9. Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail is maintained to the satisfaction of customers and to minimise errors and the necessity of collections/credits
    10. Listening to customers and seeking selling opportunities to ensure maximum sales of the company
    11. Dealing with customers problems/difficulties politely and efficiently to ensure goodwill and good customer relationship
    12. Update company documentation system as and when required
    13. Complete individually assigned tasks as and when required
    14. Take part in promotional phone outs, ensure this is carried out effectively, using selling skills and marketing publications
    15. To undertake any other duties as requested by the management

    Job Title: Multi-Drop Driver

    Responsible to: Transport Supervisor


    Full time, permanent multi-drop driving position with our fleet of 35 vehicles. The position involves multi-drop deliveries to Claygate customers in London and the South of England. Candidates must have C1 category or above, Drivers CPC and digital tacho card.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    1. To deliver materials as detailed on company documents in a quick, efficient and polite manner to the satisfaction of the customer and obtaining a signature and printed name from the customer as proof of delivery. Also to complete the date / time of delivery and their vehicle registration where stated on the ticket.
    2. To ensure that lorries are loaded in a safe and secure manner, taking care to avoid any possibility of damage occurring.
    3. To collect materials as requested on company collection notes. To ensure that only items detailed are collected and that not required goods are in a re-saleable condition.
    4. To ensure that any materials and goods left on the vehicle, ie. Collections or non-delivered items, are off loaded and signed in on company documentation by an authorised person.
    5. With regard to C.O.D. deliveries, to ensure that payment is collected as detailed and that cheques are completed correctly; taking particular care with cash only tickets, ensuring that payment is correct and in its entirety. Employees will be personally responsible for the safe keeping of any cash in transit between the customer and the Claygate accounts office, and any loss of such cash may be deducted from salary on proof of negligence.
    6. On returning to the company premises, drivers must ensure that they get their cash book signed by a Manager, Supervisor or Transport Administrator. (Note. No monies should be left unattended by any member of staff. Drivers should not leave any materials on COD tickets without payment unless authorisation is obtained from accounts).
    7. To comply with transport regulations, with regard to the fitting and completion of tachographs, and to ensure that restrictions are adhered to.
    8. Security. To ensure that whenever the vehicle is unattended, the doors are locked, curtains closed, and padlocks are in place. Under no circumstances may the keys be left in the vehicle and this should be on the driver’s person at all times.
    9. Care of Vehicle
    10. Drivers should ensure that:
    11. a) A vehicle Daily Checklist is completed every morning before the vehicle leaves the company premises, and that should any defects be evident, that they are reported immediately.

      b) Vehicles are kept in a clean and tidy condition, paying particular attention to windscreen, lights and number plates.

      c) Any defect occurring with the vehicle during the day is reported on the checklist upon return to the company premises.

      d) Any vehicle used should be left re fuelled and swept out and straps left in a neat and tidy condition for reloading.

    12. To report immediately back to the Transport Manager any accidents or incidents that the driver is involved in.
    13. To undertake overtime if requested by the Transport Supervisor / Operations Manager.
